Depends on the build I'm running and the function of the elite, say if I'm running a d-slash build for my warrior it's on 5th slot (enduring, FGJ, enraging, flail, D-slash) etc.

It's skill and build dependant. Depends how I want to use the build and where on the bar it's most convenient for me to have it.
I usually place energy management elites in slots 1 or 2, such as Offering of Spirit, Ether Renewal, Spirit Channeling and Healer's Covenant. For builds where I don't use such an elite I place the elite wherever it best fits, eg Elite attacks in Assassin chains.

Depends on what I'm using and the profession. But usually I put them in slots 1-4. Monk generally 1 if it's a major heal/prot. Others I pop them in how they'd best fit in the build for me (ex. - Barrage I might put on 2 or 3 and put Splinter and maybe another before that one.).

Usually in the first 3 slots. Some exceptions for the utility type elites. I'll usually throw those in 7 or 8.

This.
I generally place my elite in the order im going to use it.
Like on a war I place my skills based on adrenaline cost so my elite will be in the 4th 5th space. Monk its usually in the first slot because its the one I use most(unless im using HB then its in the last slot.)

Depends on what build i use..
Normally i take a build from 'Great' from PvX-wiki. I never change it, i just get used to play with it and its getting normal. If you change you maybe dont make the good combination.

I try to follow the following "rules":
- Anything spammable goes in 1. If it can be echo'ed, then echo in 1, elite in 2. Or Splinter in 1, Barrage in 2. If I run a Mark of Pain B/p, Barrage still remains 1 'cause I can spam it mindlessly while casting MoP on 4, interrupt with 2-3, speed boosts with 5. But I always use MoP before Barrage.
- Anything that I can maintain for a while (20+ seconds) such as Healer's Boon and Elemental Attunement goes in 7 or 8.
- If the elite has to be chained or requires adrenalin, usually goes in slot 3, 4 or 5, depending on the combo.
- If I run I try not to set my "best" running skill to 1. I used to run Charge! on my warrior to run (I run with my sin or derv now) and it was usually 3 or 4, since 1 to 3 were mostly either other running skills (Sprint comes to mind) and a def skill (Heal Sig, Endure Pain, hex removal). Kinda kept that on my derv and sin... (VoS usually on 4 or 5 'cause I can focus on using Dash/Dark Escape on 1-2, have other useful ench/stances on 3 or 4...).

It matters per elite.
For twitchy elites, like Shield of Deflection, I put it on 3, where on my WoH bar Infuse would be. Pblock, Magebane, elites requiring reflex/twitch go on 3.
Condition removal for me is always 8, so RC is 8.
Everything else on 1.

Always depends on the build I'm running, usually where it will have the most synergy. First or Fourth slot. On my rit, sine he usually uses Offering of Spirit in PvE, slot 7 right next to my res.

Depends on the build. If possible, it's #2. In general, my most spammable or most used skill is slot #2. In a WoH bar that's my #2, Wounding Strike on my Critscythe is #2, Offering of Spirit on my Spirit Spammer is #2, etc. My "maintained" enchantments or buffs are usually 7-8 depending on if I bring a res. HB would be #7 on my bar as would any attunement.

I place the elite based on what role it fills in the build. If the elite is just a generic attack-type skill (anything from eviscerate to cripshot) would be in slot 1.
I usually have interrupts in slots 4 and 5, so if I'm playing Pblock it would be in slot 5.
Basically, it's highly variable.

I always put my Elite in the Xunlai Chest so it doesn't take up room on my bar.

Depends on the elite, interupt skill (regardless of elite or not) are always 1 and 2. So if my elite if Magebane Shot it will probably be 1. If the bar has no interupt and I am a caster it goes in slot 1 same for melee except assassin because of the skill chain configuration. Warrior might have an interupt in slot 1 and then my elite in slot 2.
Gah, it really depends and since I play pretty much all profession (except rit) it would take me too long to describe all the situations. Lets just say general rule slot 1 or 2.

Slot 1 unless it's a non-damage skill on a damage dealing character, such as Elemental Attunement being slot 6 or 7 on my Elementalist.

Depends entirely on what the skills functionality is as i place condition removals/bigheals/rupts etc etc all in specific places.
However with melee classes it's nearly always slot #1.
